This revision provides a general update of the entire text while expanding upon areas of growing importance. Many new chapters have been added to cover state-of-the-art treatment modalities (Liquid Lung Ventilation, Mixed Gas Administration), important areas of critical care (ARDS, Smoke Inhalation), and major diseases (Asthma, Cystic Fibrosis). The text has been rearranged into five distinct sections: fetal development, assessment, therapeutic procedures, disorders, and transport and home care. Overall, the text has been streamlined to better organize topics, expand upon important areas, and eliminate repetitive and redundant information.
